Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 24th, 2017

Synopsis:

Gravity is not your normal, sweet romance of childhood friends to lovers. Spanning over twenty years - it’s raw, it’s real, asking the question if soul mates really exist.

Lily
At eight years old, the boy next door changed my life. He was the force pulling me toward him despite our differences. It was like magic.
We understood each other, supported each other and in the process became everything to each other.
But in chasing Trevin’s dream, I lost myself along the way.

Trevin
Through tremendous heartache, she was there. Through fame and fortune, she was there. Loving Lily was the one thing I got right.
Eclipsing her in my shadow, I took from her until she was empty. Now I must do anything to prove I can be the man she wants, no, the man she deserves.

My Review:

I loved this story even though I didn't like Trevin most of the time but I suppose it wouldn't have worked otherwise. I'm just someone that prefers the good guys doing everything for their love and Trevin disappointed me a few times but it didn't minder my love for this well written story. If you like guys making mistakes, then this is definitely the right book for you.

The Story:
Trevin and Lily grow up as neighbors and soon become friends. After life gets tough for Trevin at home, they both grow even closer and when the hormones change, both develop deeper feeling for each other which kind of frightens them because they don't want to lose their friendship.
'I turn and our eyes meet for a brief second as a small smile forms on his lips. They're so close to my face I can feel the warmth of his breath on my skin, and instantly, my chest tightens.'

When Trevin's offered the chance of his lifetime both are really excited about this opportunity and positive change in Trevin's life because he deserves to finally get out of this place he's in right now. But what does this change mean to their friendship? Or the feelings they have toward each other when they now live such different lives? Trevin is determined to become the man Lily deserves but his current lifestyle doesn't seem to be the kind of life she wants. Despite everything, when life gets tough they both strengthen each other because they are each other's gravity.
Will there ever be the right time for them to be more than friends?
'The butterflies take flight in my stomach when his voice dances around my room. It's not the first time he's checked in with me in the morning, and it's definitely not the first time he's called me Lily Pad, at somehow, everything has changed. My feelings for him, our friendship, his family... it's all different. One thing overrides all the other uncertainty that I can't deny - his voice sends chills down my spine, making the butterflies' wings beat faster. I don't know whether to smile or throw up from nervous sensations overwhelming me.'

Thoughts:
The story started out in the younger years of Trevin and Lily where we got to know how they've met and how their friendship grew. It’s told in Trevin's and Lily's POV which gave me the chance to understand their actions better than with just one perspective.

I loved the writing and I was captured by this great story of friendship, forgiveness and faith. There was a lot covered in this fast paced book and I couldn't put it down.

I loved Trevin in the beginning as a boy but came to dislike him later because of his stupid actions. There were just no good enough reasons for me to understand his behavior and I had a love-hate relationship with him throughout the entire book but you know my soft heart, I couldn't hold a grudge against him at the end.
'I sit in silence as the lyrics talk about his mom preaching for him to follow his heart, being satisfied and content in his life - a simple man.'

Even though I didn't like his behavior, I think that it made the story more interesting and I enjoyed the ups and downs despite my outbursts when Trevin acted out again. I didn't really comprehend how Lily could be so forgiving when he treated her like that but I suppose that's what this book's about - their undying friendship and love for each other because life doesn't always turn out the way you want it to and sometimes you have to wait patiently for the things you want or even have to give them up altogether.

I highly recommend this great book of Lauren Runow. She never disappoints with her stories and became one of my favorite authors.
