About the author:

Amo's debut series was the Sinful Souls MC series, and if you asked her which of her books you should start with, she would say The Devil's Own Series (even though you can read any of her books as standalone's).

She's a full-time writer from New Zealand who loves long romantic walks to the wine cellar.

When she's not creating magic, you can usually find her relaxing in front of the television watching the latest episode of Supernatural or Vikings. (This will be updated as she finds new television shows with hot actors.)

She's the proud mother of four little critters who are the reason she breathes, but also the reason she drinks.

She loves to write like how she lives, hanging on the edge of insanity with a wine glass in one hand and her morals-or lack thereof- in the other.

Those are not my monkeys, I swear....
Oh those hellhounds? Yeah, those are mine.

My review:

I had high expectations at this book and I liked it a lot but I didn't love it like the first one.
The reason may be that I didn't know where the story was going when I started reading this book. It started off where the first book left off which instantly brought me back to the heartbreak and feeling of loss but where was the story going? After I got over the first shock, I felt that the story just got a bit lost.
There were some things happening throughout the book but all in all it wasn't a story like in the first one. I liked it, a lot. Oh what the.. I loved it, but it took me some time to get into the story.

There were some shocking events, heartbreaking ones and also some sweet moments. I was more than surprised at one or two outcomes but wasn't really happy with what happened if I'm honest. Once I was even hyperventilating. I couldn't believe what the author was putting me through again. It’s just not for the faint-hearted.

The Story:
It's impossible for me to tell you something about the story without giving too much away. But all in all, it's about Millie and Raze growing closer together and lots of drama going on.

I feel like shit, because I want her more than I've ever wanted anyone or anything. It's true; I hate mercilessly, I kill expertly, and I rule like a fucking god. Love, though? Love is something I'm not familiar with. But whatever I feel for Millie, that shit is untouchable, and I don't even think it's love. I don't think the word love could even scratch the surface of what I feel for her.
It's also the single most terrifying thing I've ever experienced, and that's not something I'm familiar with either. I've never felt fear. Ever. I've been on the receiving end of military weaponry, knives, and machetes, and I've never felt it. I look death in the eye with a smirk every single time. Nothing created fear until I met Millie. Is she ready for that? Fuck, I'm not even ready for that bullshit, but I'd raise fucking hell if anyone dared touch her or disrespect her.
Thoughts:
If I had to choose I'd say that I liked the first book a bit more than this one. I wasn't really satisfied or happy with two incidents in this book and their outcomes. I can't really say any specifics of those incidents because it would spoil a ton so I just leave it at that.
I also felt that some topics came and went a bit too quickly and I wish that they would have been dealt with more thoroughly.

Maybe everything felt so fast because it was a really good and quick read and it may be better to read it again for a proper review because I wouldn't get surprised and sidetracked again with all the drama.

I wasn't much a fan of Millie in this book. She was annoying as always and provoked Raze all the time. I couldn't really warm up to her, she was just too crazy. Ha! She was already crazy in the first book though it was something else now. I just didn't like her that much and I preferred Raze as tough guy but he became too soft around Millie. Both changed and grew closer which was really sweet. It's just something I couldn't associate with Raze.
We got to know some more of ‘The 6’ but not really anything on what’s going on now with the Army and what Raze exactly does. He always had stuff to do but we never got more info on anything. I guess this book was mainly about Millie than anything else.

Despite the above-mentioned things this was again amazingly written and had me laughing and bawling my eyes out. This author knows how to break a reader's heart and put it back together just to break it again.
It just took a while until the story picked up which had me rating this book lower than 5.

"Ohhh." I smile. "We're taking the mob car?"
He shakes his head with a light chuckle. "It ain't no mob car, baby. Get in."

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
