CALLIE

I have a secret. It’ll get me fired if my boss ever finds out…which shouldn’t be a problem except for one thing: my coworker, Reid Morgan.

He’s cocky, aggravating, and that hot-as-sin mouth simultaneously makes me want to slap him and melt into the mattress.

Now that he’s discovered my secret, he’s doing everything in his power to take my job.

REID

I have a problem: my pint-size spitfire of a coworker who’s primed to take my promotion.

She’s infuriating, sexy as hell, and I just can’t seem to keep my hands off her.

Now we’re both vying for the same position…and only one of us can come out on top.

My review:

One thing’s for certain. I sure as hell won't ever be able to think of bingo the same way again.
This was the most funniest book I've ever read. I haven't laughed as much during any other reads as with this one.

The authors did an amazing job with this book. As you can probably guess, it was a funny read but it was also a really well written romance. I liked that the humor felt so natural and not forced on the characters or put in the story with silly jokes. It fit to the book like the cherry on the cake.

I may not have been emotionally invested in the story because I couldn’t connect with the characters, but the story was so funny and entertaining to read that there was no other way than to love it.

Reid was easy to like but I had to warm up to Callie because I felt bad for him that she appeared out of nowhere and took his job away for which he worked so hard for. (Even though it wasn’t her fault but his boss’s.) Yeah, suffice to say that I rooted for him; although, I did warm up to her quick enough due to her embarrassing and funny moments and also because I could relate to her distaste for beer.
Reid was like a wine stain on the carpet. Once on there, there was no chance of that sucker coming out, no matter how much baking soda or peroxide.
The characters felt instant chemistry and attraction toward each other which was fun to read about because not only did Reid dislike Callie for taking away his job, they also weren’t allowed to give in to their desires because of the non-fraternization policy. Sparks were flying and neither of them held back when it came to having the last word in their bickering.

Reid almost always had sexual fantasies about Callie when he looked at her. Even though it was harmless wishful thinking of kissing her or slipping his fingers beneath her dress, it sometimes felt a bit too much and too often for my taste.

Other than that, I really liked Reid. He had guts, was smart and determined, he knew what he wanted, worked hard to get it, and he didn’t take bullshit from anyone.

The Story:
Not only does Callie have no knowledge about Breweries, she also doesn’t even like Beer. Still, she is determined to keep her job at On Tap Brewery no matter how much of an ass Reid is to her. Although there are days when he can’t keep his eyes, hands, or lips to himself because she’s just so tempting in her skirt sashaying around in front of him.

But Reid wants her gone. Callie swooped in and took the job he wanted so badly and worked so hard for. Now he has to show her the ropes of the management position he’d intended on filling. Though treating her like a douche isn’t something he can do for long when she looks so alluring and has him craving her touch.
We always were volatile. Like pulsing a daiquiri mix in the blender without the lid.
Thoughts:
Although this was my first book by Jennifer Blackwood, I wasn’t worried in the least about how the book would turn out because I’ve read a lot of RC Boldt’s books and I absolutely adore her. So, it was no surprise that the book was hilarious and had me almost constantly laughing.

Callie’s character was especially funny due to her often slightly embarrassing scenes. I warmed up to her after a while because honestly at first I felt really bad about her taking away the job Reid so badly wanted. I actually don’t even know why he didn’t just tell his boss that he wanted it…
Anyway, I wished there was a bit more fight and hate in the beginning because the instant attraction/chemistry between Callie and Reid took away what surely would have been more funny times.
I know it's bad to see only worst in people, but Reid is one of those people who no matter how cute he is, I need to be on high alert.
People tend to make things way more complicated than what they really are but that’s already half the fun of the story. So, although I wondered why he for example didn’t just tell his boss that he wanted the job, I also couldn’t blame him. Anyhow, I still loved the book! It was hilarious! I had to laugh so much like never before and although I’ve read quite a bunch of rom coms in the last months, they aren’t usually my go-to genre. I love RC Boldt’s humor and this is definitely one of her funniest books. I am also tempted to check out Jennifer Blackwood’s books.
